No travel today .. (At least in a boat)
We didn't travel today. We are stuck in Iuka MS waiting for some parts for our toilet to arrive. Since we have a couple days we rented a car and visited Muscle Shoals Sound Studios as well as the FAME music studio in Muscle Shoals. So much music has been recorded here. As it hundreds of platinum albums in a number of genre's. This is the home of many popular blues acts, southern Rock n Roll sound.
But it is also where The Rolling Stones, Rod Stewart, The Allman Brothers, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Bob Seger, Cher, Demi Lovato, Eric Clapton, Alabama, Simon and Garfunkel, Percy Sledge and tons of others recorded here. One of the secretaries even became one of the (and the only female member) of the Grateful Dead. Hard to believe this little burb in N Alabama recorded so many hit records.
Keith Richards wrote Wild Horses sitting on this toilet - not while using it. It has the best acoustics for what he wanted.
Next we went to the birthplace of Helen Keller. Such an interesting story and woman (which I knew before hand) but it's interesting to see more of the family history.
