Biscayne Bay to Ft Lauderdale

This morning we arose on Biscayne Bay to flat water.
We had a beautiful morning cruise up Biscayne Bay and Miami slowly came into focus.
We cruised through Miami between the city and Miami beach.    We had lots of bridges today.  Some we had to wait for... Others we could squeeze under.

Oh, and there are some little boats here.   And some big boats....
We finished our day on the channels of Fort Lauderdale.
Someone here even put our last name initial on a yacht and it's dinghy for us...

What a spectacular area.     Cruise anyone?  This is Miami's cruise ship port. Ships lined up to head out ..

Of course 7 million other people all seem to have the same opinion and have decided to live here.

This place is seriously built up with skyscrapers
and every kind of condo and house you could imagine.  I've included a few of the shots we took as we meandered up the ICW to Sunrise Bay.
Ft Lauderdale has turned into quite a seaport with container ships unloading and major cruise ships coming and going....

A beautiful day of travel but quite hot...

Their water taxis look like old school buses ..
Our journey today took us nearly straight north ...    It is by no means cooler yet though.   We would have to be way up by Jacksonville to get the 72 degrees I like best.
It's warm enough I took all the front canvas windows out and stored them in the cabin ..  too hot.   It feels like I expected Florida to feel...  We even took a swim after we got to our anchorage.     I think that's a first for us down here in Florida (although we were in the water a lot in the Bahamas).

Here's the journey for today ...
