Port Washington to Red Hook to Croton-On-Hudson NY
We've made the move from Long Island Sound back through the city and 45 miles up the Hudson to Croton-On-Hudson.

The air was really clear Saturday and we could see the entire city skyline from 25+ miles away. This view is over LaGuardia Airport, Rikers Island and part of Brooklyn looking down into the city from the North
It sure is beautiful from a distance. It's the distance I prefer to keep NYC ....
Eventually we entered the Hudson heading north. The tide was with us so we made good time.
New York has pretty amazing architecture.
And the city looks different from every side..
We picked up four family members and we're a party of six for the last 2/3 of our trip today.
Eventually the ferry traffic died down so it was again possible to just enjoy the journey. When in the harbor of the lower city it is just crazy with things going all directions.
It doesn't take long going up the Hudson River before you reach the Palisades and the banks start getting high and the city disappears.
By the time we reached the George Washington bridge it was beautiful. Deep river. Fast water. High banks. Few boats..
The Tappan Zee bridge is the last one we cruised under for the day.... The trains run the shoreline all of the way up the Hudson often carved right out of the rock.
The color of the water changed as it becomes less salty as well....
Eventually we arrived at Croton-On-Hudson and our marina home for the next couple of weeks (since we will be leaving the boat to return to Michigan for a week before resuming our cruise...)
63 miles Saturday...
We won't be traveling (via boat) for the next couple of weeks. We may do some tourist travel but we won't be taking the boat....
We did make a trip out for ice cream with our crowd from this trip...
Back to the boat to pack up..
Goodbye family. Until next time...
Bike ride time with new ebike. It was shipped here to the marina and arrived before we did. It took me a couple of hours to assemble it but it turned out nicely. First experience tells me this is quite the upgrade... 21 speeds (vs 7), dual motors (AWD), intelligent power assist modes that actually seem to be different from each other... Geared hub motors. Even a 'walk mode' to have the bike help when walking up an incline that isn't rideable...
First trip - Croton-On-Hudson dam! What an amazing engineering feat. So cool to build this ..
The pics don't do this justice.
This area is pretty cool. New York has so much more terrain than most of what we have seen on the loop.. (except maybe Tennessee).
