Delaware River Anchorage to Cape May NJ

We left Delaware City area 7am, negotiated through the tiny opening in the under water wall (thanks to GPS and the markers you don't see until you are close).

It was a beautiful day to be on the water.   50+ miles downhill. Almost zero turns.

Occasionally large ships would cruise past us and rock us as we moved down Delaware Bay.

This light house on a shoal was really cool.  Can you imagine living in there in the winter out in the middle of the bay tending light (can't see shore in any direction)

Eventually we reached Cape May.  Dolphins greeted us near the canal start!   We haven't seen dolphins since way down in the Carolinas!

We were told there was a humpback whale here yesterday but we didn't see it today...

The water here is skinny.  Lots of watching the charts carefully and picking our line in the canal.

Even the railroad bridge crossing was tight.  Wider than our boat but we certainly couldn't pass anyone in there...  54.4 miles today almost all in a straight line...

Once we arrived I had work to do....I wish it went better but it didn't.   Some stuff at work is getting a little long in the tooth and needs attention.   I'm sure now I've got to go back and work to get others fully on top of a few things.   Nothing major but.....I don't like it when things don't work like they are supposed to because of neglect.

We are in a marina tonight and tomorrow night in Cape May.  There is a good chance it will rain tonight and tomorrow and if storms come it's nice to be protected and have power hookup.

I also sleep better when not bouncing around on a mooring ball or anchor.. ..too bad it's way more expensive....

It was time for oil change in generator again so I did that tonight.  That should last til we are home.  I  ordered some oil for one last oil  change on the mains.  I'll do that between here and home... Maybe in New York before we head home for a week.  The oil should deliver tomorrow.....   We are getting to the point I can put some things off until we are home.... (I'll have a list when we get home, like a window that got cracked in Marathon)..  It eels good that sometimes I can put things off for 90 days.... especially since we have obliterated any budgets we planned for this trip.....

We won't move until at least Thursday as the forecast on the ocean looks best for that day to run north to New York....
